CCR is thrilled to be an organizational partner on Days of Remembrance and Resistance, an exhibit and series of events coordinated by the New York City Day of Remembrance Committee to shed light on the incarceration of Japanese Americans during WWII and to build alliances to with Muslim and Latinx communities targeted by anti-immigrant sentiment today. Participants include speakers, poets, artists, musicians, dancers, playwrights, and performers.
Artwork created by CCR client Djamel Ameziane while he was imprisoned at Guantánamo Bay will included in the exhibit. Advocacy Program Manager Aliya Hussain will speak at the April 21 event.
The exhibit is open April 20 – May 4, 2018.
