NYPD sets up online poll to gauge public opinion on body camera program

The NYPD has created an anonymous online survey to get the public’s thoughts about body cameras soon to be worn by cops.

The survey was conducted with New York University to get a read on the average resident’s thoughts on the controversial subject.

The survey comes as the department is in the process of procuring 1,000 body cameras that will be worn by cops in 20 precincts throughout the city this fall, as directed by the federal court at the close of the Floyd v. City of New York stop and frisk trial in 2013. ...
